Test Includes: Gross, microscopic examination of tissue and diagnosis.
Collection: Biopsy specimens are to be placed immediately in OncoFix II fixative. Small tissues can be compromised in a short time by placing in saline or allowing to dry.
Container: Jars of assorted size containing OncoFix II fixative
Special Instructions: Test requisition form must state operative diagnosis and source of specimen.
Turn-Around Time: 2 Business Days
Clinical Utilization: Histologic diagnosis
Storage: Fix in OncoFix II
Sample Rejection: Improperly labeled specimen; unlabeled specimen; no test requisition form
