Peter Klemm, Ph.D.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Peter Klemm leads Predictive Biosciences overall to achieve key corporate milestones. He is the former Chief Executive Officer of GeneOhm Sciences, a molecular diagnostics company pioneering the rapid detection of bacterial organisms, including those known to cause healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Dr. Klemm joined GeneOhm (founded in 2001) in May 2002 as CEO and oversaw the company’s acquisition by Becton Dickinson in February 2006 for $230 million. GeneOhm investors included Domain Associates, CHL Medical Partners, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Partners HealthCare, Questmark Partners, Wasatch Advisors, and others.
Dr. Klemm was previously Chief Executive Officer of JOMED Inc., a Swiss-based company that develops and manufactures products for interventional cardiology, radiology and minimally invasive vascular surgery. Following JOMED's successful IPO in April 2000 and with the acquisition of Endosonics Inc, Dr. Klemm moved to the United States to integrate the companies and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of JOMED Inc. Prior to joining JOMED, he was SVP of R&D at Gruenenthal GmbH, a European pharmaceutical company, where Dr. Klemm established state of the art drug discovery technologies and central analgesic therapies. Prior to Gruenenthal, Dr. Klemm joined Aventis as Senior Scientist within the cardiovascular drug discovery unit and spent one year as a post doctoral fellow at the William Harvey Research Institute in London with Sir John Vane.
Eugene Chiu
Vice President of Business Development and Co-Founder
Eugene Chiu co-founded Predictive Biosciences and is responsible for the company's business strategy, marketing, and business development activities. He was previously business development lead and a founding team member of Codon Devices, a venture-funded biotechnology company enabling commercial applications of synthetic biology. He helped start the company as a member of the Flagship Ventures life sciences team.
From 1999 to 2003, he was Co-Founder and VP Business Development of BigMachines, a leading provider of on-demand configuration and quoting software, where he raised $30 million in financing, built the marketing and business development functions, and helped direct the company to profitability. Earlier, he managed iNiku business development at NIKU Corporation leading up to its successful IPO and was a consultant at McKinsey and Co. focused on life sciences and technology industries. Eugene performed graduate research under the guidance of Professor Robert Langer at MIT. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemical sciences from Harvard College, his M.S. in Health Sciences and Technology from MIT, and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Anthony P. Shuber
Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder
Tony Shuber leads the company's overall scientific efforts and our applied research team. He brings more than two decades of highly successful research, development, and commercialization experience in diagnostics and applied genomics. Most recently, Tony served as Co-Founder, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for EXACT Sciences, a premier applied genomics company focused on developing proprietary non-invasive, DNA-based screening tools for the early detection of cancer. At EXACT, Tony spearheaded – from concept to launch – the development of DNA-based molecular technologies utilized in commercial cancer screening applications (early detection of sporadic cancers).
Previously, he held key scientific/management roles with Genzyme Genetics / Integrated Genetics as well as earlier research and management positions. Tony holds over 30 patents and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Vikram Lamba
Chief Financial Officer
Vikram Lamba directs and oversees the company's financial activities. Mr. Lamba brings to Predictive Biosciences 20 years experience in the healthcare and energy industries. Most recently, he was the Vice President of Corporate Development at Advanced Medical Optics, where he was responsible for multiple merger and acquisition deals and strategic alliances including the company’s acquisition of Intralase Corp. Previously, Mr. Lamba served as the Chief Financial Officer for GeneOhm Sciences, where he was instrumental in GeneOhm’s acquisition by Becton Dickinson in 2006. From 1996 to 2004, he held various senior management positions in United States, Canada and Europe for the healthcare division for Bayer AG. Mr. Lamba is an engineer and has an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Ellen E. Sheets, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Ellen Sheets directs Predictive’s clinical affairs and brings a deep clinical and regulatory perspective to the company. She joins Predictive from Hologic, Inc. and predecessor company Cytyc Corp., where she most recently served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President. Prior duties at the company included General Manager of the Breast Health Unit as well as Vice President of Clinical Affairs. Previously, Dr. Sheets served on the faculty at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School for over 10 years, most recently as Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Director of the Pap Smear Evaluation Center and Associate Director of Gynecologic Oncology.
Dr. Sheets received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, serving a residency there and at the University of Illinois, Chicago. She completed her gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. She also has an MBA from the Stern School at New York University.
Dr. Sheets is the author of more than 65 peer reviewed manuscripts and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology and is boarded both in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Gynecologic Oncology. She is a reviewer for multiple journals and has served as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
